How about that crazy, wired feeling we often get at silly o clock. Or racing thoughts at 3am, or the way your heart jumps when the to-do list mounts up. If it sound familiar? You’re not alone. Most of the women I see at Wholistic Wellness Hub are running on not much —not because they’re doing something wrong, but because life is just… a lot. Many of us are juggling work, family, hormones, health (low-tox living goals!), and everything in between.
Here’s the thing—your nervous system is at the centre of it all. When it’s in survival mode for too long, it’s like living with the volume turned all the way up and no “off” switch in sight. So today I’m sharing a few of my favourite tools for nourishing your nervous system—simple, soul-soothing ways to bring calm back into your body, mind, and spirit. Woohoo!

💛✨ 1. Breath Is Your Superpower
You’ve probably heard it a million times, but —conscious breathing works. It’s free, easily available, and literally reprograms your nervous system to shift from fight-or-flight into rest-and-digest.
Try this:Inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 6.
…Do that a few rounds and feel the shift. You’re telling your body, “Hey, you’re safe now.” I do this in between massage sessions, in the car, even in the kitchen when I feel like life is crazy!!
💆♀️ 2. Touch That Grounds You
As a remedial massage therapist, I’m constantly reminded that touch is powerful. When you receive nurturing bodywork—especially modalities like remedial massage, Raindrop, or lymphatic drainage—it’s not just your muscles that take a sigh. Your nervous system softens too. Touch tells the body: You’re held. You can let go. Even if you can’t get in for a massage right away, try gentle self masage: place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Breathe. So simple, so grounding.

🌿 3. Nature Is the ultimate Healer
When in doubt, go outside. Gtake of your shoes and get barefoot in the grass. Relax next to a tree. Gaze at the clouds. Seriously. This isn’t just feel-good fluff—it’s grounding, calming and settling. Time in nature regulates your heart rate, lowers cortisol, and brings your body into harmony. Even 10 minutes can shift your state. If you’re local to Dural or Quakers, or would like to take a drive, we are spoilt with beautiful spots for grounding walks
🛁 4. Sensory Reset Moments
When your brain is on overload, engage your senses in soothing ways. Try:
Herbal tea with lavender or chamomile
🍵A warm bath with magnesium salts – soft music or a calming sound bath (psst… watch out for our upcoming oils classes – Essential oils like lavender, frankincense or stress away on your wrists… These little rituals tell your nervous system it’s okay to pause.

💛 5. Connection Is your Medicine Sometimes the most healing thing isn’t a product or a protocol—it’s being seen, heard, and supported. We are wired for connection. Whether that’s through a cuppa with a friend, joining us for a sound bath (hint, hint) or having a beautiful massage where you can truly exhale… find your safe spaces. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
So, next time anxiety or overwhelm creeps in, remember: it’s not about fixing yourself. It’s about nourishing your nervous system, softly, gently, and consistently. You are worthy of rest. You are worthy of calm. Your nervous system? It will thank you for every moment you allow it to relax and reset.
